Stratford is making decisions now that will shape the next twenty years: housing and growth, the Grand Trunk site, essential infrastructure and the cost of government. I’m running for re-election to bring experience, independent judgment and a long view to those choices.
The next council will have to connect the decisions.
More housing needs infrastructure. Major projects need operating plans. A stronger downtown needs year-round activity. Keeping taxes manageable requires choices about what we build, what we defer and what we stop.
Nearly thirty years building here. One term at the council table.
I grew up in Stratford and returned in the late 1990s to build my working life in the centre of the city. Business taught me that every plan eventually meets payroll, debt, construction costs and changing assumptions. Council has taught me the same lesson at a different scale.
Experience is useful only if it makes you better at asking questions, recognizing when circumstances have changed and explaining the trade-offs behind a decision.
